About Web Science

Web science is derived from two words that mean the web page on the internet or referred to websites and science means knowledge so webscience is a website that contains the various sciences. Birth of the Web Science is driven by the movement of the Web generation of Web 1.0 to Web 3.0. Since the Web was introduced in 1990 by Tim Berners-Lee. The main differences of each generation are as follows:

At the Web 1.0 still is a read-only. So the content of the web can only be read by users without any interaction at all between the user and the web.

At the Web 2.0 move toward read-write. At the Web 2.0 social activities already begun, with the increasing popularity of various facilities such as wikipedia, blogs, myspace and so forth. So that is an interaction between the web with its users. But the main constraint on Web 2.0 is the handler for data exchange or interoperability is still difficult.

While at the Web 3.0 develop human relationships to human, human to machine, and machine to machine. Web 3.0 Web 2.0 tries to improve with research emphasis on the Semantic Web, Ontology, Web services, Social Software, Folksonomies and Peer-to-Peer. This research is very concerned about 'culture' of a community to the need for a data or information.

Seeing the development of the movement to some scientists over the last 3 years of Web of Science, their workshops in early 2009 and the first Web Science conference in Athens, Greece in March 2009 which will come I think we will see the crystallisation in the next 3-4 years whether semantic or Web 3.0 will bear its own studies or science web successfully adopted it as part of their studies. Web science is believed many people such as business leaders, entrepreneurs and policy makers from around the world. The aim is to discipline training to learn the web in the world and explain the content and the challenges that will shape the future use of the design. There's nothing like the web has ever seen before. This is a very good luck according to the bond. If we ensure that the web benefits in humans, we have to do your best to understand it first.

The following few examples of web science :
